Is it
just me or ... does time seem to be going by
REAL fast.
I
just can't believe My Sisterlocks™ are 3
years old January 24th 2003. It has been a year since I published any
significant photo updates to my sites. It seems like it was just yesterday when
I was surfing in search of information on hair locking. Somehow I
"happened" upon the Sisterlock™ web site. In fact this was in November
of 1999. I was facing a new Millennium in time and a new decade in
life.
Just
about to hit the big 40
I was looking for something I did even know was lost. With that wealth
of information in hand, then finding myself on a Yahoo group called "Sisterlocks™"
in search for someone in Colorado who had knowledge of this process.
To
my pleasure and surprise a real nice and informative Sista named Sigrid of Boulder, Colorado answered my e-mail. She was a "regular"
person just like me, only having her Sisterlocks™ for 6 months at the time.
That initial meeting at a restaurant between Sigrid, her sister Paleri of
Greeley, Colorado and I changed our lives and many others in ways I could
never explain fully. After that I had total affirmation that going
natural was the right thing for me.
Be
certain to enjoy the Slide Show above.
Seeing the pictures from the past helped me to see the growth that was
achieved in 3 years. Some have asked me did I cut my Locks and why
aren't they showing as much growth as they did the first year.
Yes,
my Sisterlocks™ were groomed October 2001 which included a trim to even them
out. But the difference seen in growth rate is part of their maturity.
Also notice as they mature they are getting thinner. Hey I can't say
the same about my body .... but I'm working on that!!!!!
My
Sisterlocks™ are at a stage where they are drawing up as they grow out.
This drawing up process is a characteristic of how our coily hair
forms locks. I love how firm my Sisterlocks™ feel now, yet they
maintain their small size. As they
become more mature, you should start
to see the increases in length.
I
encourage everyone to keep your own Photo Journal of your hair at different
stages of development. It proves to be an excellent tool to remember
the pros and cons during the various phrases of the journey. Believe
me there are days I wish I still was still in the 'cutie" stages of baby locks.
This is especially true on those days I don't want my locks in my face.
