So this is a long but important (at
least to me).
I had to announce my NEW
ARRIVAL…
I guess you can say this is my “coming of age” letter! So…
- It’s been
ONE WHOLE YEAR (Aug. 2003) of me living with my SLs
(Sisterlocks)!!!
So what do I like the most of this year? My get up
and literally go capability. Even with my natural
hair I had to DO something to it before making a
“cultivated” presence to the world. It was either do
it or opt for the cave girl look – not happening.
So thanks to SLs and locs in general I can get up
and go! What I like least? I’m having COLOR ENVY
and hating on my (still) loose ends. I can’t wait
for my ends to close completely so I can color my
hair. And when I do, I’m going for every color I
can sensibly get away with!!! So what dose it look
like? Pictures… of course! I couldn’t imagine
sending this without posting pictures! I figured I
wouldn’t be able to live it down not to mention… I
had a potential client ask me how do I style my SLs
and I had to consider that I hardly EVER do because
I’m lazy at times despite my creativity. Not to
mention I suffer from Hair Stylist syndrome – Ya
know… they do YOUR hair therefore THEIR hair is
hardly ever penciled in to get DONE! So I had to
intentionally style my hair a few different ways
before taking those pics because I didn’t want my
coming of age to be a…ho hum…Bore! So notice the
makeup and wardrobe changes…oh yeah! I tried to do
a lil’ sumin’ sumin’ for this post! Now I was still
lazy, notice no curls (can’t heat style yet and too
impatient for rods) and the back is not shown
because…well the back is rigged with LOTS of bobby
pins! {8-o What?! I know…hand slap…bad consultant!

official now – CERTIFIED SISTERLOCK™ CONSULTANT!
Can you say – HAPPY?! Boy it was something of an
experience! For instance being stuck on 9/11 in
Chicago with no planes in the sky while my client
asked me FIRST so what about my retightening and
SECOND how are you and how will you get home..for MY
RETIGHTENING! :oD I laugh now! She was my second
head, but thanks to me “missing” her 1st
retightening, we resolved that she go to someone
else thus resetting my qualifying heads count. Then
there were missing pictures, poorly developed
pictures…etc. You name it happened to me! But I’se
here now! It will take a moment for me to be named
certified on the official Sisterlock™ site, but they
told me in advance of my certification! Which leads
me to…

literally, in WASHINGTON DC! Yes, I made this
dramatic twist in my life that I sometimes sit back
and go – AM I CRAZY?! I just up and moved. For no
“reason” like a job (nope don’t have one), a man
(but at least there are more single ones here so
I’ve heard – I’ll be the judge of that!) or any sane
reasons other than I wanted to do it before I
decided to settle too deep into life- ya know kids,
marriage, etc. So wish me luck…on second thought…

SLs as a service to others in Columbus (existing
clients only) and the DC Metro area (accepting new
