June 24th 2000
Today is the 6th month "birthday" of my Sisterlocks™ .  Time flies when you are free.  It's hard to believe that much time had passed since I started my journey.
I can still remember last year  about 2 months before getting my
Sisterlocks™ meeting with 2 Sisterlocks™ sistas.  I had tons of questions about their hair.  I was told they were just starting the process so the hair was  not yet mature.
I remember thinking to myself … "I don't care if it is mature or not … I just want my hair like that"
Well I truly can say I feel the same 6 months later.   I don't know what it is "
suppose" to look like……  in fact being really honest I don't care if they are not just perfect.

Besides what is Perfect … perfect compared to what or who????
I'm just plain happy.

Does that mean I never have a bad hair day?  NO  not at all.  In fact this morning was one of those days. I woke up this morning with hair pointing in every which way.
My once neatly tied head rag was lost under the bed somewhere…….?

Having many weekend chores to do I just put a head band on and rushed to Walmart  at 7:00 AM before the Saturday morning crowd.  Well as the day went on and after several "combings" with my fingers I realized my bad hair day had turned out good with very little grooming,   Well later on in the day I realized I had  my new look for six months and this would  be a good day to take pictures.  A change of clothes and a little makeup turned the day into a photo session

The moral of this story is now days even a bad hair day can turn out just great.  No more Saturdays with me anxious over what I'm going to do with my hair for a Sunday Church day.  No trips to the hair store for a last minute fix. No all day salon sessions for a hair style that should have only taken a couple of hours.  My hair was the last thing on my mind today and that's a Wonderful thing.

The journey is Oh so fine … I ain't got tired yet!!!   And YES I did say AIN"T!!!!

I want to give credit where credit is due.  All my pictures for the site have been taken by
either my 14 year old daughter or 11 year old son.  Of course under my direction.  Not bad for a hobby.  Of course I also enjoy using my technical skills to apply special effects and get them "site" ready.

We often have picture day around the house where we set up interesting scenes and have a photo session.  I love pictures because they capture the moment and mood.  More
important it show how much we've changed and grown in both maturity and size (Oh NO!!).
Of course that is another subject by itself. Now that I'm not spending so much time with hair woes I hope to get my body together.  Age, gravity, and abundant eating are not mixing well with each other these days.
I'm still waiting to purchase another digital camera that gets better resolution.  I just can not make up my mind.  I love electronic gadgets so the cheaper ones don't appeal to me.  The $1,000 ones are not in my budget right now.  But the good thing is the longer I wait the lower the prices will get….

Anyway enough of that …. Enjoy the new pics.
