"Say What ? ....
 Locs in any Language"

Say What?????    I say it is truly is a Small world.

One day I was checking the “stats” on my web page to see where
people who visited my web site link came from.
To my surprise I noticed a reference to my site that appeared top be
in another language

Upon following that referenced link I found myself in an incredible place.  It was a web site totally in another language I COULD NOT read.
Interesting …..Hmmm.  While I have received guest book entries and direct e-mail from people as far away as Japan … the is the first place that I know of where
Diva D'zigns is referenced on a site that is totally written in another language.

About a month later I noticed a guestbook entry from Monique.  WOW this was the site I remembered from before. At this point I decided to e-mail Monique.

Well now I can say I have a friend Naptural in Holland!!!!

Monique agreed to write a short comment about herself.  Thanks Monique!!

Hi Pat,

I love your updates !
Your designs are impressive. Keep up the good work.
There are lots of black people here in my country, if you want some more online exposure for your designs for free, just holla. You can use my website. I like supporting my black sisters in the US cause i have learned a lot from you and it encouraged me to start locing ! I feel great now that i am relaxer and permfree.
peace and blessings
Monique

Monique’s Link page ..... I found my link there
http://www.kroeshaar.info/Linksverzameling.htm

Even though I can’t read the pages, I often go there just to see where her links take me.  I did ask Monique about translating the site.  This task is in the works.

She like many of us has a REAL busy schedule and has not found enough  time to translate.  The site is in Dutch.

Here is a web site where you can translate sites into most languages.

http://www.worldlingo.com/products_services/worldlingo_translator.html

You are  to get somewhat of an idea what is written on Monique’s site. The translation is more  word to word rather than meaning to meaning.
I will use this translation until Monique is done.

Fill in the needed information as indicated in the graphic below.

Click the "Machine Translate" button and the site will be translated into Dutch.

 See example below.

Greetings from Holland
I´m Monique a nappy sister living in Holland. Years ago i started to read nappyhairwebsites. The first site was blackhaircare.com and than nappyhair.com. The wealth of info was amazing.
The information about for example starting locs with tools and just being your natural self regarding our hair was very interesting. I´m still hooked on reading all those sites. Especially since i´m three years natural my self now, after years of switching from relaxers to perms and vice versa.
We don´t have natural hair salons, seminars, workshops, and natural hair gatherings here. I hope this will change in the near future.

My freeformlocs are 8 months old, wild and fuzzy and here to stay.
These locs make me feel free and my afrocentric self. I have accepted my hairand i adore it. Especially after a fresh wash and rubbing some peppermintoil in it my hair feels and smells so good. My locs are short and i´m waiting for the day i can do a crinkly locstyle.

Because of all the info i learned and because i could talk about this subject ALL day i started a Dutch nappyhair website. I hope to encourage people who would like to go natural to take the plunge and to
think about why they perm or why they relax. I do see some women here with natural hair and there are men and women with locs here but the majority of the women alter their hairtexture.
I don´t think that is mostly because they are ashamed of their hair but it´s easier and people don't know how to or don't want to care for their hair anymore because they think it´s too difficult, too time consuming or that they can not look good with their natural hair.

Pat, i think i found your site through Google when i was searching for locinfo. Very inspiring, it´s great to see you put all your time and effort in your site and beautiful designs.

I would really love to visit the US someday and attend a nappyhair conference i think it would feel like a natural hair paradise.

Be certain to visit Monique's site.  You are totally in for a treat.
